Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of fableself.com and the purchase of a Fableself book. Placing an order means you accept them, they are written to be read, so please do.
1. What Fableself is
Fableself creates bespoke, personalized illustrated hardcover storybooks. Every book is an original work produced to your order from the photos and story details you provide. It is a made-to-order product, not a catalogue item.
2. Ordering
You place an order by completing the order journey (style, length, characters, photos, story details, contact information). You confirm that you are at least 18, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you are entitled to share the photos you upload (see Content rules).
3. Proof before payment
After we write and illustrate your book, we send you a digital proof by email. Nothing is charged before you approve the proof. If the proof does not feel right and revisions cannot fix it, you may cancel at no cost.
4. Payment
Once you approve your proof, we send a secure payment link. Prices shown on the site are starting prices per edition; the final price (including shipping) is confirmed with your proof. Production of the physical book begins after payment.
5. Shipping and delivery
Books are printed and shipped by our international print partners. Typical delivery is one to two weeks after proof approval, depending on the destination. If a book arrives damaged, we reprint it free of charge, write to us with a photo of the damage within 14 days of delivery.
6. Revisions and cancellation
Names, the dedication and story details can be corrected at the proof stage; one round of reasonable revisions is included. Because every book is personalized and made to order, the statutory withdrawal right for distance sales does not apply to the finished printed book (Türkiye: Distance Contracts Regulation art. 15/1-c; EU: CRD art. 16(c)); you remain fully protected by the proof-before-payment step.
7. Content rules
You must own the photos you upload or have permission from the people in them (for children, from their parent or guardian). We refuse and delete content that is unlawful, hateful or sexualises minors. We may decline any commission at our discretion with a full explanation.
8. Intellectual property
Your photos and your story remain yours. The finished book's text and illustrations are created for you: you receive a perpetual, personal, non-commercial licence to the work, and we do not reuse, resell or exhibit your book or its artwork without your written permission. The Fableself name, logo and site design are our property.
9. Liability
We are liable for intent and gross negligence and, in case of slight negligence, only for breach of essential contractual duties and limited to the order value. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. Consumers in Türkiye may apply to Consumer Arbitration Committees and Consumer Courts.
